Drawing inspiration from the architectural density and relentless pulse of the city, the New York series explores the vitality of the urban landscape. Executed primarily in watervolor and a variety of graphite madiums, these works often examine the city through a lens of reflection—capturing the isolating reality of the pandemic (as seen in her "Covid Series") alongside moments of stark, structural beauty. The paintings utilize bold, architectural forms and a complex color palette to convey the monumental scale and the intimate, often solitary, experiences of living in the metropolis. Many of then examine the city from the West New York, NJ, perspective over the Hudson—a tradition that honors and is inspired by the works of the early 20th century painter John Marin.
